Hot take: that whole 'work when you feel inspired' advice is terrible for night owls
I overheard this guy at a 24-hour diner last night telling his friend to just wait for the creative spark before starting any work. Like, seriously? I've been freelancing from 11 PM to 5 AM for about 2 years now, and if I waited for inspiration every time, I'd be broke. That advice works great if you're a morning person with a 9-to-5 safety net, but us late-night hustlers have bills due on the 1st whether we feel inspired or not. I learned the hard way after a month of low earnings back in March that discipline beats motivation every time. Now I set a timer for 25 minutes and just force myself to type even if it's garbage. Has anyone else found that whole 'follow your passion' talk falls flat when you're running on coffee at 2 AM trying to meet a deadline?

@jennybailey ever tried coding at 3am? Some brains just flip on later.

Ugh yeah I totally feel this. I started doing my best writing around midnight during college and it just kinda stuck.
