Used to burn 3 hours on admin every night, now I batch it in 45 minutes flat

Back when I started freelancing design work at 2 AM, I'd stop every hour to email clients or update invoices. Found out last summer if I just lock in 11 PM to midnight for all that junk, I get way more actual work done. Anyone else chunk their non-billable tasks into one late-night block?

Not sure why you need a whole hour for that.

@fionamurphy you might be surprised how fast an hour goes when you're cycling through 10 different client platforms and each one needs a login reset or a password update. The real time suck is when you have to cross reference three separate email threads just to see if a client approved a change or not. A pro tip is to batch all the admin stuff on one day and treat it like a sprint, set a timer and go until the alarm hits. Works way better than spreading it out over the week and losing your flow state.

[@fionamurphy](user) honestly an hour goes by quick when you're sorting out 15 different invoicing systems and replying to "hey can you just tweak the logo" emails. Tbh I'm jealous if your admin only takes like 15 minutes, mine feels like a never-ending game of whack-a-mole with client requests. Ngl I'd rather stare at a blank canvas for an hour than do that stuff, but it gets the job done.
