The before and after on my liability waiver form was wild
I used a generic waiver I found online for 3 years and never thought twice about it until a client tripped over a cable at my coworking space in Austin last month. After talking to a business lawyer, I rewrote it with specific language about premises liability and added a signature line for photo releases. Has anyone else had a generic form blow up in their face like that lol?

Man the first waiver I used was basically a napkin with "you cant sue me" scribbled on it in sharpie. A client slipped on a wet floor I forgot to put a sign out for and their lawyer had a field day with my lack of proper legal language. Rewrote everything after that with help from a local attorney who specializes in small business stuff. Now I have like five different pages for different scenarios and honestly I still get a little paranoid every time someone signs one lol.

Ha god that napkin waiver is such a vibe though. I bet you could've sold it as a collectors item after that lawsuit. Honestly it's wild how easy it is to think "yeah this is fine" until someone actually tries to sue you and your whole business crumbles over a missing wet floor sign. Five pages sounds like overkill but hey at least you're covered now. Bet you triple check every floor sign these days too.
