Took me 6 years to figure out coworking spaces aren't all the same

I keep seeing people talk about coworking spaces like they're all just tables and wifi. That's just not true. I tried 3 different ones in Austin last fall and they were wildly different. One had zero quiet zones and the music was so loud I couldn't hear my calls. Another had outlets that barely worked and the AC went out at 3pm. The third one actually had phone booths you could book and ethernet ports at every desk. Made my whole workflow way smoother. Has anyone else noticed how much the setup matters more than just having a place to sit?

Yeah I used to think wifi was wifi but nope, learned that lesson quick.

My buddy runs a coworking space and he said the worst part isn't the wifi itself, it's the interference from everyone's devices at once. He told me 15 people on video calls can nuke a connection even if the speed test looks fine. Ethernet helps but most laptops don't even have ports anymore.

Wifi speed matters way more than people give it credit for. I was at a place once where the connection dropped every 15 minutes. Had to restart my laptop each time just to get back online. Ethernet ports are non-negotiable for me now after that headache. The setup of the space can make or break your whole day. People who say "it's just a desk" haven't tried working through spotty internet.
