Selling my friend's surfing lessons online has me split between Instagram reels and local flyers.
Reels get shared a lot, but flyers at the cafe bring people who actually show up. Which method would you use?

Which one gets people to book? I was all about reels until I saw flyers pull in actual students.

Why does it have to be one or the other? Different people just find you in different ways.

Last summer, I made a dozen surfing reels for my buddy's shop. My editing was so bad that the only comments were from people asking if my camera was broken. But the simple flyers we put up at the coffee shop brought in real customers who actually showed up. Reels are great for sharing, but they don't always turn into bookings. Flyers target locals who are ready to learn and live nearby. So start with flyers, then use reels to build hype after you have a few students.

Actually knew a guy who tried both for his kayak tours. He made these awesome reels with drone shots and everything, but the people who booked were almost all from a little poster at the marina store. Funny thing is, those marina customers told their friends, and then those friends found the reels online. It all kind of fed into each other in the end, even though the flyer did the real work at the start.
