Rant: I kinda like when memes get run into the ground...
Everyone on my feed keeps groaning about the same template being used all week... but I don't mind it. Take that 'guy looking back' meme... it started with just checking out another person, but now it's about choosing between snacks or games. People say it's dead, but I think seeing how it changes is fun. It's like watching a joke get retold with new twists each time. Sure, some are lazy copies, but the clever ones make me laugh more. I guess I just enjoy the familiar more than always chasing what's new.

Totally get that, my feed is the same way. It's kinda fun watching a meme turn into its own weird inside joke after a while.

Ever notice how we do this with everything, not just memes? We take a simple thing, a song or a joke, and just keep using it until it means ten other things. It's like our brains love shortcuts, so we bend old stuff to fit new stuff because it's easier than making something from scratch. You see it at work, in friend groups, everywhere. It's not really about running out of ideas, it's about people being lazy and liking what they already know.

Remember how slang words get twisted until they lose their original meaning? It's like we're constantly recycling ideas because creating new ones feels too hard. Why do we default to what's familiar instead of pushing for something fresh? You see it in fashion trends coming back every few decades, or old songs being remixed instead of new hits being made. It's almost like our whole culture is stuck on repeat, isn't it?

How long until the inside joke loses its meaning? Feels like we're just chasing the same laugh over and over.

What?! Hold on, they're using the distracted boyfriend meme for an OHIO CITY COUNCIL RACE now? That's honestly wild. It went from being about cheating to... local politics? The internet is such a strange place.

Wait, you see that too? The "distracted boyfriend" meme is now all about some city council race in Ohio. How does that even happen? It was just a stock photo guy looking at another woman a year ago. Does the internet just run out of new ideas?
