Bought a cheap card reader off Amazon last month and it glitched out on a $340 transaction
The customer's receipt printed twice but the payment never showed up in my account, took 4 days and 6 phone calls to straighten it out. Anyone have a reliable brand they use for mobile payments that won't cost an arm and a leg?

$340 is rough, I went through almost the same thing last year with a $275 payment that just vanished for a week. I switched over to the Square reader since it was like $10 at a Target and it's been solid for me for about 8 months now. The fees are a little higher than some others but the money shows up in my account the next day every time. Their app is pretty simple too which helps when you're trying to process stuff fast.

Actually hold up @tessalane, the Square reader at Target is $10 but that's only the one that plugs into your headphone jack or charges port. The one with the chip reader and NFC for tap to pay is more like $49. But yeah the simple one works fine for most people, I just wanted to throw that out there so nobody grabs the wrong one thinking it does contactless payments. Also the money showing up next day thing is true but only if you process before like 5pm or whatever the cutoff is, I've had a few late Saturday sales not hit my account until Monday.

So @emma_jones, does that 5pm cutoff change based on your bank or is it the same for everyone? I just started with the chip reader and I'm trying to get a handle on when to expect deposits. Also, do the weekend delays mess up your cash flow much?
