Idk what it is with these payment processors but they always find a way to nickel and dime you. My buddy runs a food truck and Square held his funds for like two weeks over some random dispute from a guy who claimed he never got his tacos. I just use a regular merchant account through my bank now, less headaches even if the rates are a tiny bit higher. At least when stuff goes wrong I can actually talk to a real person at the branch instead of dealing with some chat bot.

Honestly hadn't thought about it that way but your buddy's taco story is exactly why I'm leery of those flashy processors. They push the convenience so hard but forget to mention that when something goes sideways, you're basically stuck in an automated maze with no real help. Regular bank merchant accounts might not be as shiny but at least when a dispute pops up, someone at the branch can actually look at the situation instead of just copy-pasting scripted replies. Not having a human to talk to when your money's stuck is a dealbreaker for me.
