Can we talk about moving pod companies underselling you on space?

I booked a 16-foot pod for my move from Denver to Austin. Their website said it fits a 3-bedroom house easy, but I barely got my 2-bedroom stuff in there. Had to leave my couch and some boxes behind, now I'm paying extra to ship them later. Lesson learned, always go one size bigger than they recommend. Anyone else get burned by those space estimates when moving long distance?

Oh man, that stinks. My buddy used one of those companies for his move from Seattle to Portland and they swore their biggest pod would hold a three-bedroom, but he ended up having to sell half his furniture on Craigslist before the truck even showed up. It's wild how their "fits a whole house" estimates are basically a suggestion, not a guarantee.

Wait, so even their biggest option is a gamble? That's crazy because I honestly used to think those companies were the safe bet for long distance moves. I figured if you paid for the big pod, you were set, no questions asked. But hearing your buddy's story makes total sense now, they're probably just trying to get your money first and let you figure out the details later. Guess it's a good reminder to measure everything yourself and not take their word for it.
