Just realized I hate apartment living after visiting a friend in Portland
I went to visit my friend Sarah in her new place in Portland last week and noticed how quiet and peaceful her neighborhood was compared to my noisy complex. The whole vibe made me rethink my plan to stay in my current rental for another year. Has anyone else changed their mind about renting vs buying after seeing someone else's setup?

My own apartment is basically a noise buffet - I get the upstairs stomps, the side wall bass, and the guy across the hall who thinks 2am is the perfect time for vacuuming. After crashing at my cousin's house outside Seattle where the loudest thing was a squirrel dropping a pinecone, I started checking Zillow like it was my new full-time hobby. My credit score definitely gave me that "you sure about this?" talk though, so now I'm just looking at quieter rentals instead.

Wait, 2am vacuuming? That's not just annoying, that's actually unhinged behavior. Who vacuums in the middle of the night unless they're trying to cover up a body? No joke, I'd be leaving anonymous notes about sleep hygiene and basic human decency.
Crashing at your cousin's place outside Seattle sounds like a reset button for your sanity though. That pinecone squirrel situation is basically luxury living compared to what you're dealing with. Hope you find a quieter spot soon, those noise buffets will wreck your health faster than bad credit.
