My buddy's one comment about my moving boxes changed how I pack everything now

My buddy Mark once told me he could tell what kind of person I was by how I packed my kitchen stuff. He said if I put plates on their sides instead of stacking them flat, I probably planned ahead. It actually made me think about how much my packing says about me. Now I organize everything by room and label every single box with a number. It sounds dumb but it saves me so much time unpacking.

yo you color code labels too? that's next level. i started doing a system where i put a symbol on the outside of the box like a triangle for kitchen and a circle for bedroom so even from across the room i know where it goes. also learned the hard way to take a pic of the box contents before sealing it up. saved me from opening 4 boxes labeled "misc kitchen stuff" just to find my measuring cups. i still shove all my clothes in trash bags though. some things are just not worth labeling.

@joseph48 wait so your buddy mark just casually psychoanalyzes your packing style over plates? thats wild but honestly i get it. i used to just throw everything in boxes like a madman then spend three days searching for a spatula. now i label everything too but i go one step further. i color code the labels so i know which room each box goes to without even reading the number. saves my sanity when my brain is fried from moving.
