My rental's kitchen floor went from beige to black in 6 months

I moved into this apartment in March and the linoleum was a nice light tan color. By September it looked like someone spilled tar and just left it. Turns out the sealant was worn off and the grout was trapping every bit of dirt from my work boots and the dog's paws. I tried scrubbing it with bleach and a brush for 3 hours and barely made a dent. Has anyone else had landlord-grade flooring just give up on them like that?

Read somewhere that vinegar and baking soda works better than bleach on that kind of buildup.

Have you actually tried both side by side on the same kind of buildup? I used to think the fizz meant it was working too but after scrubbing a shower with vinegar and baking soda it still had a film. Bleach took it off in one pass and killed the mildew smell. The vinegar combo is good for light stuff but bleach is way stronger on that thick grime.

Vinegar and baking soda are just fizzy water compared to bleach, which actually kills mold and germs at the source.
