Learned the hard way that QuickBooks Self-Employed doesn't track mileage from my actual route
I been using the mileage tracker in QBS for like 6 months thinking it was logging every work drive. Turns out it only tracks trips you manually start or if your phone is unlocked. Missed about 200 miles of my daily mail route detours between sorting centers. Had to go back and estimate everything from my gas receipts. Anyone else find a mileage app that actually runs in the background without killing your battery?

Heard my buddy complaining about the same thing last month. He ended up just using Google Maps timeline and manually checking his drives each week.

Oh gosh, that's exactly the problem with those automatic trackers isn't it. They all seem to have some catch like needing the app open or your phone unlocked which defeats the whole purpose. Google Maps timeline is pretty solid for that since it runs constantly and you can just look back at your week to pick out the work drives.

Yeah same thing happened to me with a different app. What worked was just keeping Google Maps timeline on and marking my drives as work trips once a week. Takes like 5 minutes and you don't lose anything.
