Why does nobody talk about the week where everything goes right and wrong at the same time?
Last Wednesday I had a client pay me $800 for a project I finished early, felt like a champ. Then later that same day the IRS sent me a letter saying I owed $200 in penalties for a missed quarterly estimate from two years ago. How does a week flip from high to low like that? Has anyone else had a single day that swung from awesome to awful?

Man, that's just how it goes sometimes. I had a day last fall where I found out I got approved for a new job I really wanted, then two hours later my car broke down on the highway and cost me $600 to fix. It's like the universe balances things out in real time or something. I swear there's some kind of cosmic rule that you can't have a win without a matching loss right behind it. The worst part is you can't even enjoy the good thing because you're already waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'd take a boring week over that roller coaster any day.
