Hot take: everyone raves about coworking spaces but mine just shut down without notice
Honestly, I think coworking spaces are overhyped for digital nomads. I signed up for one in Medellin six weeks ago, paid $180 up front for a monthly desk, and showed up yesterday to find a locked door with a note saying they closed suddenly. No email, no refund, nothing. I tried calling the number on the lease - it went straight to voicemail. Ended up working from a hostel lobby for three days until I found a cafe with decent wifi. Tbh, I'm starting to think we romanticize these spaces too much when a good coffee shop or library can do the same job for way less. Has anyone else had a coworking space fold on them mid-month?

Right, paying $180 for a locked door and a sticky note sounds like a real bargain. Guess you were just paying for the privilege of a life lesson.

The sticky note said "electrician coming Tuesday" which was a lie because nobody showed up until Thursday. The door was a solid metal security door with a deadbolt that required a key from both sides. $180 was actually the discounted rate for same day service since the original quote was $240. The life lesson here is that you should always ask for an itemized invoice before they start drilling holes in your door frame.
