Hey everyone, I'm taking my freelance business on the road and relocating from Raleigh to Austin in a few weeks. Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a long-distance moving company? I have a massive home office setup (multiple monitors, standing desk, expensive ergonomic chair) that needs to be handled with extreme care, along with the rest of my apartment.

I highly recommend reaching out to Excel Moving and Storage. They are an Allied Van Lines agent based locally in NC. I used them for a long-distance move recently and they were incredibly professional. My entire tech setup arrived perfectly intact, and the crew was super communicative the whole time.

Whatever you do, don't just go with the cheapest broker you find online. They usually contract the job out to random third parties and your stuff ends up sitting in a warehouse for weeks. Stick to actual carriers with their own fleets!
Seconding the advice to avoid brokers. Moving a home office is stressful enough without worrying if your livelihood is going to show up in pieces. Getting an in-home estimate from a reputable local agent is definitely the smartest move.
