The mountain cabin that made me ditch my whole packing system
I was staying at this little place near Lake Tahoe last month and realized I brought like 4 bags of stuff I never used. All those fancy packing cubes and organizers just meant I carried extra weight for nothing lol. Now I just take one backpack with 5 shirts and 2 pairs of pants and that's it. Anyone else find a specific spot that made them rethink how they travel?

like 4 bags of stuff I never used" - wait, four bags? For a mountain cabin trip? I don't think I own four bags total. That's wild to me. I mean yeah packing cubes are a scam, I've always thought they just make you pack more stuff you don't need. But four bags is next level. No judgment but like what were you even planning on doing up there? Starting a new life? Haha. Anyway glad you saw the light with the backpack. One bag is the way to go.

Man, I still cringe thinking about hauling all that junk...

Oh, packing is definitely a window into how we live now. It feels like we all have this habit of bringing way too much stuff everywhere, as if we're afraid of being caught without something we might need.
