Wish someone told me sooner about visa runs in Thailand
I've been nomading for 3 years and last month I almost got denied entry at Bangkok airport. They flagged me for too many visa exempt entries in Chiang Mai. I had done 5 land border runs in 6 months and they said I was abusing the system. They let me in with a warning but told me next time it's a no go. Has anyone else had trouble at the land borders or am I the only one getting flagged?

Hate how they're treating us like criminals for just trying to travel.

yeah man, you're not alone in this. I've been watching this sub for a while and it seems like the land borders are getting way stricter, especially for people doing multiple runs. it's like they started treating us like we're gaming the system when really we're just trying to stretch a visa waiver. I think it's part of a bigger pattern where governments everywhere are cracking down on digital nomads and long term travelers, not just Thailand. they see us as a loophole in their immigration rules and they're closing it fast. best move is to get a proper visa or at least mix up your entry points and don't do back to back land runs.
