Stopped by a garage sale last weekend and found someone's abandoned knitting stash

I was driving through Oakwood last Saturday and saw this random garage sale sign. Turns out an older lady was selling her mom's old craft stuff after she passed away. She had like 15 bags of yarn, some half finished scarves, and a set of needles from the 80s. It got me thinking, how many people have hobbies they just quit cold turkey and never touch again? Has anyone else stumbled on something like this and wondered what the story was behind it?

Found a box of old model train stuff at a thrift store once, half assembled kits and tiny trees still in their bags. Took it home and spent a weekend trying to figure out what the person was building, like a little town or something. Never finished it myself either, just ended up donating it back a year later. Kinda funny how we pick up these things and then life happens and they just sit there.

My grandpa had a whole train setup in his basement, took him close to 10 years to build it. @joseph_bailey you got me thinking about how he would spend hours just painting those little people and trees. Never finished it all the way either, but he sure enjoyed the process. Its wild how something that seems halfway done can still mean a lot to the person working on it.
