Swapped my paint rollers for a sprayer on a fence job in Phoenix

I spent last Saturday painting a 200 foot fence by hand with a roller. My neighbor came over and showed me his Wagner sprayer, so I tried it on the back section. It took me 2 hours to finish what would have taken 6 hours with the roller. The sprayer gave a smoother coat too with no brush marks. Has anyone else switched tools mid-project and seen a big time savings?

A buddy of mine swapped to a sprayer on his deck and ended up painting his carport instead.

Did you use a primer with the sprayer on that Phoenix fence? I did a similar swap on a cedar fence job last summer. Switched from brushes to an airless sprayer halfway through and cut my time by more than half. The only thing I messed up was overspray on the neighbor's dog house, so watch the wind direction.
