Switched from digital art to watercolor after talking to a guy at the art supply store
I was at Blick in Portland last Saturday, just grabbing more tablet nibs, when the clerk named Jim asked what I was working on. He showed me a little sketch he did with a cheap watercolor set and said 'you can't undo a brushstroke, that's why it's fun.' That one line made me buy a $12 palette and now I actually look forward to my evenings drawing instead of stressing over layers. Has anyone else had a random store clerk change their whole hobby approach?

The hardware store guy told me to stop overthinking my tool belt and just carry what I actually use for a week. Took me from lugging 40 pounds of stuff to a simple pouch with six tools. Made the whole day easier and my back stopped hurting. Sometimes someone on the sales floor just sees what you're doing wrong and puts it into words.

$12 palette and a random clerk named Jim got you this fired up? @taylor_wells you ever feel like we're all just waiting for some stranger to tell us the most obvious thing in the world?
