I finally tackled that weird noise in my car's engine bay

Last Saturday I decided to finally figure out what that clunking sound was every time I turned left. I figured it would be a quick 30 minute job, maybe a loose bolt or something. Four hours later I had taken apart half the front suspension and found a worn out sway bar bushing that was completely shot. The part itself only cost $12 at the local AutoZone here in Springfield, pretty cheap fix. But the real killer was getting that bolt off near the frame rail, it took a full hour of PB Blaster and a breaker bar to break it free. By the time I put everything back together and it was running smooth, the sun was going down and my back was killing me. Has anyone else run into a simple car issue that turned into a whole afternoon ordeal?

Wait until you gotta do it again in the rain.

Rain just makes everything take twice as long (and that's being generous). The real kicker is when your gloves get soaked through and your fingers start going numb halfway through. Just a heads up - layering waterproof covers over your regular ones helps way more than you'd think.

Always thought I was done in an hour, then this exact thing happened to me last month.
