I hit 10,000 steps every day for a full month and didn't even notice until week three
I got one of those cheap fitness bands off Amazon back in October just to see how much I actually move. After about three weeks I checked the app and saw I had a 21 day streak going. Turns out my daily walk to the bus stop plus pacing around during phone calls adds up way more than I thought. I wasn't even trying for some big number, just walked like normal. Ended up hitting 10,000 steps every single day for the whole month without changing a thing. Did anyone else accidentally hit a streak like that without planning it?

My bus commute alone clocks like 8k steps most days.

8k steps just from the bus? that's wild, how far do you live from the stop?

Yeah but there's a catch nobody talks about. That 8k step count gets totally thrown off if you have to stand at a crowded bus stop for 15 minutes and then stand on the bus for another 20, which barely counts as steps but still feels like more than sitting. I actually used to do the same thing and then realized I was crushing 12k on commute days but barely hitting 4k on my wfh days because I'd just walk from the bedroom to the couch. So you end up with this weird lopsided week where your step counts look fine overall but your body's actually just getting jolted around on public transit half the time.
