Last Tuesday was a total disaster from start to finish

Had a flat tire on the way to a job in Portland, then my phone died so I couldn't call the client. Got there 2 hours late and they had already hired someone else. Lost a $400 gig because of a pothole and a dead battery. Anyone else have a day where everything just falls apart at once?

C'mon man, a flat tire and a dead phone is a rough morning, not a "total disaster." That's a minor inconvenience, not the end of the world. You lost a $400 gig, sure, but you didn't crash your car or lose a limb. Plus, you showed up 2 hours late with no warning... that's on you for not having a backup plan. A portable charger costs like $15 and a spare tire is standard. Maybe the universe is telling you to be more prepared next time.

Yeah, you're right about the "rough morning" versus "total disaster" thing. I've had mornings where everything goes sideways and it feels like the world is ending, but looking back, it was just a bad few hours. But I also get where he's coming from. Losing $400 stings, especially if that was his only gig that week or something. Life hits different when you're on the edge financially and one flat tire can mess up your whole month. Still, the two hours late with no warning is tough to defend. A dead phone is a real problem these days, but a portable charger is cheap insurance. Not trying to pile on the guy, just saying it's a lesson I've learned myself the hard way. Hopefully he bounces back and gets another gig soon. Bad mornings can make you feel like everything's against you, but it's usually just a temporary thing.]]
