Spent 3 hours chasing a mouse problem that turned out to be a single gap under the garage door

I got a call last Tuesday from a lady in Oakwood who said mice were coming in through her kitchen wall. I went over, put down traps, sealed up some cracks, and came back three days later to find zero mice caught. She was mad and I was confused. So I sat in her garage for an hour just watching, and turns out a tiny quarter inch gap under the garage door was letting them right into the crawl space. I spent three total trips and about $200 in materials before I found it. Has anyone else had a simple entry point like that make you look dumb for days?

Quarter inch gaps are the devil. Found one myself under a door threshold last winter.

And that threshold gap is the perfect height for a mouse too because they can flatten themselves down to nothing. I swear those little things can squeeze through any opening that's big enough for their whiskers to fit through. I've started carrying a tube of silicone caulk in my truck just for those tiny gaps that look like nothing but actually let everything in. You end up feeling like a detective staring at baseboards for an hour before you finally spot it.
