Just realized I spent 3 hours trying to fix a simple task dependency link in Asana

I had a project where one task needed to finish before another could start. Simple right? Took me forever to figure out why the dependent task wouldn't auto-trigger. Turned out I had the dependency direction backwards. Three hours gone. Has anyone else had a similar facepalm moment with task dependencies in your PM tool?

Read somewhere that around 60% of PM tool users mess up dependencies at least once. Makes me feel a little better about the time I did the same thing in Jira.

Add on that the 60% number is probably low since most people won't admit to messing up dependencies. I've seen project managers chain tasks together that make zero sense just to get the Gantt chart to look right. Then you spend a week untangling why Task C started before Task A finished and nobody can explain the logic.
