Vent: Client asked for a 'quick fix' on a logo, then demanded a full rebrand for free

I was at my desk in Phoenix last Thursday when a client emailed saying they needed a tiny tweak to their logo color. I spent 10 minutes on it and sent it back. Then they replied saying the whole logo didn't 'match their vibe' anymore and wanted me to redo everything with no extra charge. I had to re-read their contract out loud to them over the phone before they backed off.

Stick a kill fee clause in every contract before you touch anything.

Kill fees are a must, but @henry_anderson54 make sure you also define what triggers the kill fee in detail so there's no wiggle room. Some clients try to argue it doesn't apply if they "paused" the project instead of cancelling it. Get the trigger language tight and you are good.
