Warning: I took on a $300 logo job and the scope creep nearly sank me
I agreed to design a logo for a local bakery for $300 flat. Within 3 days they asked for 8 variations, a full brand guide, and social media templates. I spent 40 hours on it and barely broke minimum wage. Has anyone else had a client turn a fixed price gig into a bottomless pit?

Always write a scope of work into the contract so they can't add on for free.

Honestly, everywhere expects extra for free these days.

Oh man, $300 for all that is rough. Just a heads up though, 8 logo variations on a flat fee is actually a lot, not a little - most designers I know cap it at 2 or 3 concepts unless you pay more.
