Do you actually inspect after handymen claim they fixed it
I had a tenant in Austin complain about a dripping faucet. Handyman said fixed, two days later the ceiling below was stained. I checked his work and the supply line was loose, just finger tight. Now I always verify before paying, is that too much or do you all trust your guys?

Man, checking everything they do is a surefire way to lose good workers. If you breathe down their neck every time, they'll just stop caring about the little stuff and rush through jobs even more. Pay them, move on, and hit them up when it breaks again, that's how the game works.

Oh come on @perry.jesse, that's a recipe for letting sloppy work slide until it bites you later! If I don't check the small stuff now, I'm the one eating the cost when a pipe leaks or a wire sparks three months down the road. You say they'll stop caring, but I say the workers who get mad at a quick look-over were never gonna do a clean job anyway. The good ones don't mind showing their work, they take pride in it. And "pay them, move on" sounds great until you're calling them back for the fifth time to fix the same damn thing they rushed through. That's not how the game works, that's how you turn a one-time fix into a monthly headache.
