I finally figured out why my tenants kept breaking the garbage disposal

Turned out the previous manager installed a 1/2 horsepower model in a 4-unit building, and after three disposals in two years I just switched to a 3/4 horsepower unit for $150 more and haven't had a call about it since - anyone else dealing with cheap hardware from the last guy?

Those cheap parts feel like a deal until you're standing in a hot attic on a Saturday, same as cheap shoes that fall apart after a month... you end up paying more in the long run anyway. Wondering what cheap equipment you had the worst luck with specifically. Was it a brand that looked decent online but gave out after a season or two?
