Shoutout to the tenant screening service I almost didn't buy

I was sure those expensive background checks were a scam, but after a renter in Denver trashed my duplex and skipped on $2,800, I finally paid for a deep credit report. Caught a prior eviction on the next applicant I would have missed otherwise. Who else has been burned by skipping the screening step?

@knight.uma Sounds like you're overthinking it. Bad tenants happen with or without a screening.

Man that sucks, but at least you caught the next one in time. I learned the hard way too after a tenant turned out to be a professional squatter who knew every loophole in the book. Now I'm paranoid and run checks on everyone including my own mother lmao. It's crazy how much you can dodge for like thirty bucks and a few minutes of clicking.

Yeah that tenant story definitely changed how I used to think about screening.
