Warning: My 'quick' portfolio update ended up taking 14 hours
I wanted to swap out three old design samples on my portfolio site last Friday. Figured it would be a quick 30 minute job. But the file formats were all messed up from an old backup, and I had to dig through 5 different folders to find the right source files. Then my site builder decided to glitch and wouldn't save my changes for over an hour. Total time lost was 14 hours of a Saturday. Anybody else have a simple task spiral into a full day project?

Oh wow, I USED to think I was immune to this kind of thing. Totally changed my mind.

That feeling when you realize you're not as immune as you thought is humbling, for sure. It happens to all of us eventually, no matter how sure we were. Solidarity on having that moment, it's a weird one to sit with.
