Hot take: That conversation at the co-working space about my monitor setup was a wake up call
Last month I was at a co-working space in Austin called The Office Spot and this guy named Mike walked past my desk. He said "you're killing your neck with that monitor height" and I laughed it off at first. But he showed me how my eye line was hitting the bottom third of the screen instead of the top. I adjusted it up about 4 inches right there and within two days my shoulder tension was gone. Has anyone else had a random stranger fix a nagging setup problem in under a minute?

Mike from YouTube's "Unfiltered" did a whole segment last year about how most people have their monitors way too low. Turns out there's actual ergonomics research that says your eyes should hit the top third of the screen. That quick fix he gave you probably saved months of chiropractor visits.

Lmao @sethm58 he's been staring at his desk linoleum for years before that video.

Bull, that "top third" nonsense is just ergonomics people trying to sell you a monitor arm. I've had my screen three inches above the desk for ten years and my only neck problem is from looking down at my phone like everyone else.
