I visited a friend's co-working space in Austin and saw 10 people all using vertical monitor stands

Half the people swore it saved their neck from cricks, the other half said it just made them scroll more. Which camp are you in - vertical or horizontal for coding and writing?

Ugh honestly I feel for both sides of this debate! I tried a vertical monitor once for writing and my neck did feel better but my eyes got so tired from scrolling down constantly. It felt like I was staring at a never-ending receipt from Target or something. I ended up going back to horizontal because I just prefer seeing the width of my documents without having to scroll as much.

The vertical monitor thing is a total gimmick for most people honestly. Scrolling that much just makes you feel like you're reading a phone bill. Horizontal all the way for actual readability.
