Just realized my desk setup was causing my daily headaches. What finally tipped me off? The clock.
I used to sit with my monitor off to the side because I thought it looked cooler. Then I bought a $15 wall clock from Target and kept turning my head 45 degrees to check the time, and after day 3 I had a constant knot in my neck. Swapped the monitor dead center yesterday and the neck pain is already fading. Has anyone else made this dumb a mistake with their layout?

My friend spent two weeks with neck spasms before realizing his monitor was three inches too low.

I did the same thing for three months with a 27-inch screen that was two inches too high. My neck felt like I'd been sleeping on a rock every morning. Fixed the height by stacking some books under it and the pain disappeared in a week.

Yeah I used to be one of those "form over function" people too, thought putting the monitor off-center made my setup look more artsy. But @robin896's friend and I are basically twins now - glad it was an easy fix for you, takes something dumb like constantly turning your head to realize you've been torturing yourself for no reason.
