Two clients told me my invoice grammar was making me look cheap
One said my use of 'per project' sounded like I was hiding extra fees, the other said my itemized line for 'miscellaneous' looked shady. I switched to clean bullet points with exact dollar amounts and dropped the word 'misc' completely. Anyone else get feedback that felt nitpicky but actually boosted their response rate?

The misc thing hits home... I had a client call that out too and honestly it felt dumb at first but they were right. It reads like you are hiding something even if you are not. Same with per project, that wording always leaves the door open for a fight later. Clean numbers with nothing vague just makes the whole thing feel solid. Good on you for switching it up, that stuff matters more than people think.
