Just had a client try to trade me 'exposure' for a $1,200 branding package.
Client in Phoenix said they'd give me a shoutout on their Instagram with 3,000 followers. Told them my landlord doesn't take followers for rent. Has anyone else had people get mad when you say no to this stuff?

your landlord doesn't take followers for rent" - I read somewhere that like 60% of freelancers get offered exposure as payment at least once. Its insane how mad some people get. I had a photographer friend tell me about a wedding planner who got super defensive when she said no. The planner basically said she was "missing out on a great opportunity." Like, you're missing out on paying a professional. That 3k follower number is funny too because I heard most of those accounts have like no real engagement anyway.

My cousin once painted a whole mural for "great exposure" and the guy never even posted it.
