Turned down a $1,200 logo redesign from my old landlord who said 'it's just a few shapes'
He cornered me at the laundromat in Bushwick and kept saying how easy it would be, like I was asking for too much. I told him my rate is $75 an hour and he laughed, so I walked away. Anyone else have a family friend or neighbor try to use that connection to get a deal?

Wait, wasn't it $75 an hour or did he just laugh at the total $1,200 price?

Ha! That's the thing, right? I swear people throw out an hourly rate that sounds reasonable but the total hits you like a brick. It's like how a plumber might say "oh it's just a quick fix" and then you're looking at a bill that makes you question everything. This whole economy feels like a magic trick where they show you one number and then pull a completely different one out of the hat.

Right?! And @the_nancy, it was the total price that made him freak, but honestly seventy five an hour is cheap for custom design work, that logo could take days of back and forth.
