Unpopular take: That 'dream client' with the big budget was my worst week ever

Everyone wants the agency in Chicago with the $10k budget. I landed them. Three revisions in one day. Emails at 10pm. They wanted me to match a style guide from 2018 but make it 'fresh.' Felt like I worked 80 hours for that check. Has anyone else had a high paying job that totally wrecked your schedule?

That client sounds like a nightmare, and the money never makes up for losing sleep. My worst week was with a local boutique that paid well but kept adding new requests after we agreed on the package. By Thursday, I was writing email copy at 2am while my coffee had gone cold hours before. The final invoice took months to clear, too, which just added insult to injury.

Got woken up at 3am once by a client who wanted to "just tweak one thing" on a project I'd finished two weeks earlier. By the time I was done, my coffee was more of a cold, sad memory than a drink.

My friend had a similar situation with a "dream client" that paid well but kept piling on extras, and she ended up pulling all-nighters for a month. @jana509 you're right that the money just isn't worth it when you're running on fumes and cold coffee.
