Tried that new platform with no fees last month and landed a $40 gig... that took 12 hours
The client kept asking for 'just one more revision' on a logo until I had redrawn the same flamingo like 14 times. Has anyone else found that cheap platforms just mean you get cheap clients who don't respect your time?

Wait, you're telling me you actually finished the flamingo? I would have sent them a stick figure on version 5 and called it "modern art." Cheap platforms really are just a magnet for people who think $40 buys them a creative director on speed dial. Honestly, at that point you might as well tell them the flamingo is now extinct and they need to pick a different animal.

and then they'd probably ask you to make the extinct animal "look more cheerful" lol. flat fee clients act like revisions are infinite because they don't see the hourly cost. i just start charging per revision after the second one, weeds them out fast.

dude 14 versions of a flamingo?! i would have lost my mind after like the third one. that client was clearly just running you in circles hoping you'd give up and they'd get free work. cheap platforms attract people who think $40 buys them a whole design department with unlimited changes. its not even about the money being low, its that they see you as a bargain bin option without any boundaries. i've found that flat out saying "this is revision number X out of Y included" upfront saves a ton of headaches. some clients just need to hear that their budget doesnt cover unlimited do-overs.
