Visited a little library in Decatur and found a whole section just on refinancing books

I was killing time waiting for my kid's piano lesson to end and wandered into this tiny used bookshop on Clairemont. They had a whole shelf labeled 'Money Stuff' and it was packed with refi guides from like 2012. Picked up one from 2015 that still had some solid tips on rate timing. Has anyone else stumbled on useful finance books in weird places like that?

Oh man, I used to think old finance books were totally useless but finding a beat up copy of The Total Money Makeover at a thrift store actually changed my whole mindset about debt.

Wesley's got a point but that book helped a buddy of mine too, so maybe it hits different for some folks.

Oh come on @michael_williams, a Dave Ramsey book changed your life? That guy's whole deal is just yelling at poor people to stop buying avocado toast. I read it too and all I got was guilt about my car loan and a weird obsession with beans and rice. It's a fine starter book if you've never thought about money before, but let's not pretend it's some kind of financial gospel.
