That Seattle client who wanted 'unlimited revisions' for $200 flat fee

Back in 2022 I took on a small logo job for a startup in Seattle. They offered $200 for a simple design (which I know is low) but I figured it would be quick work. Then they started asking for change after change after change, like 12 rounds of tweaks total. I spent three weeks on something that should have taken two days, and I made like $15 an hour after all that. Now I always put a cap on revisions in my contracts, no exceptions. Has anyone else gotten trapped by the "unlimited revisions" promise from a client?

Exactly, people love blaming others when they don't speak up from the start.

Yeah but I think it's more complicated than that. People can feel pressured in the moment and not know how to say no even if they want to, especially if everyone else seems fine with it. It's not always as simple as just "speaking up.
