Took a $200 flat fee for a logo redesign and regretted it immediately
I agreed to do a full brand refresh for a local coffee shop for $200 upfront, thinking it would be quick. They asked for 11 revisions over 3 weeks, and I ended up earning less than minimum wage. Has anyone else learned to set a revision limit the hard way?

Sandragrant makes a fair point, contracts really do save you from all those painful lessons.

Yeah "11 revisions over 3 weeks" is the part that got me. That's insane, lol. Sandra's right about the contract thing, but even with one you gotta spell out exactly what "revisions" means. Some people think a revision is "actually start over" and another is "change the font 8 times." I learned my lesson with a similar deal and now I write in my contracts that after 3 rounds of changes there's a fee per extra round. That way if they want to keep going back and forth you're at least getting paid for your time and they start thinking twice before asking for little tweaks.
