My marathon start got held up by a random parade
I was all set for my big race, nerves and excitement buzzing. Then they told us a local parade needed to cross the street right where we were starting. We stood around for what felt like an hour watching floats and kids with balloons go by. People were hopping in place to stay warm, and someone even brought out a deck of cards. I thought my focus would be gone, but laughing with other runners actually calmed me down. When we finally took off, that weird wait made the run feel more like an adventure. It reminded me that sometimes the best runs come after a little chaos. What's the funniest thing that's ever slowed down your run?

My friend got stuck behind a llama parade on a rural path once. He said they took their sweet time, and he just had to jog in place until they passed. His pace was totally off after that.
