Got burned by a "logo contest" on that freelance site last week
They picked my design, then used it without paying. The $50 prize was never sent. Has anyone else had luck getting those sites to actually enforce their own rules?

Did you read the terms before entering? Most of those sites have a clause that says they can't force payment if the client ghosts, it's on you to chase them. It sucks but it's part of the gamble with spec work like that.

Wait, is nobody else noticing how these platforms are basically training clients to be deadbeats? They build entire systems around protecting clients from paying, not freelancers from getting scammed.
