TIL my dad's old star map manual saved my replica ship display.
I've had this busted replica of a Serenity-class cruiser on my shelf for years, and the navigation lights never worked right. Found my dad's handwritten notes from when he built it, and following his steps let me trace the FAULTY connection in the wiring. Does anyone else have old tech or props that only make sense with the original builder's clues?

Yeah, those old handwritten notes are lifesavers. Got an old model train that only runs right using my grandpa's wiring diagram.

Treasure those handwritten diagrams. Digital copies miss the personal touch. My uncle's old radio guides are the same way. Full of little fixes and tweaks you'd never find online. That kind of knowledge is pure gold.
