Sleep aid advice I gave left my coworker feeling rough. I'm so sorry.

I work late as a line cook, so falling asleep is a battle. I started mixing a store-bought sleep pill with a magnesium gummy, and it worked GREAT for me. When my coworker said they were tired all the time, I told them my trick. They tried it that night, but they take prescription stuff for anxiety, and the mix made them super nauseous the next morning. Now I feel AWFUL because I just wanted to help, but I didn't ask about their other meds. It was a dumb move, and I put them at risk for a good night's sleep. Has anyone else been in a spot like this? Where do you draw the line with sharing what works for you?

My one time giving advice like that, i told my friend to try lemon water for something and they ended up messing up their stomach meds. I just stick to recommending bad movies now, never again.

Told a buddy about valerian root once and wrecked his allergy meds for a week.

Figured all natural supplements were harmless for years. Then I read about someone mixing St. John's wort with their pills and it went bad. That really changed my mind. I mean, you just don't know how stuff interacts inside someone's body. So now I keep my mouth shut unless I know their full med list. It's scary how easy it is to mess things up without meaning to.

I did that once telling someone to take melatonin who was on blood thinners, felt terrible after. Now I always ask "you on any other pills?" before suggesting anything, even over the counter stuff. Mixing meds is no joke lol.
