I miss when slow months meant actual downtime instead of panic applying

Been freelancing since 2017 and lately everyone says you gotta 'grind harder' when work slows down, but last August I took a real break for 2 weeks and came back to 3 emails that turned into paid work, so when did quiet seasons become a crime instead of a signal to recharge?

Funny you say that, I just landed two new clients because I was the only one who replied to their post during the slow season.

Timing really is everything in this game (and luck too, let's be honest). You got in before the rush when everyone else was sleeping on those posts. That's the kind of proactive move most people talk about but never actually do.
