Vent: Everyone raves about networking events but I tracked 3 years of leads from them and got exactly zero actual projects from Austin Chamber mixers

Last week I went back through my spreadsheets from 2021 to now and found I spent $340 on parking and breakfast tacos at those Thursday morning meetups but not one single person ever sent me a real contract, so am I just the wrong kind of freelancer for those rooms or what?

Wait, did you ever actually try hanging out by the coffee station and just complaining about the parking situation with other people? I did that at a few tech meetups and ended up getting two small gigs just from bonding over how bad the valet was.
