Tried pitching myself as a 'flat rate' guy for a month instead of hourly
I usually bill by the hour for my freelance graphic design work, but during a super slow April I decided to test flat rates on a few small projects. Told a local bakery I'd do their menu redesign for $200 flat, no matter how long it took. Ended up spending like 12 hours on it because they kept changing colors, but I learned that flat rate only works if I define scope really tight up front. Has anyone else found a sweet spot where flat pricing actually saves you from the slow season?

Whoa that's rough but scope creep is a killer in any pricing model honestly.

Did you end up setting a hard limit on how many revisions were included in the original price? That's what saved me from going way over budget on my last project.
